The Red Dragon Cactus is anything but your typical desert dweller. With long, flattened stems that twist, branch and cascade in all directions, this wonderfully unusual jungle cactus brings a little tropical drama to your indoor plant collection.

Botanically known as Rhipsalis ramulosa, and also commonly sold as Pseudorhipsalis ramulosa, this fascinating plant produces slender, leaf-like stems that begin a fresh green before developing beautiful reddish and burgundy tones when exposed to brighter light. Its relaxed, trailing growth makes it particularly striking in hanging baskets, where its stems can spill naturally over the edges.

Native to tropical forests, the Red Dragon Cactus is an epiphytic cactus, meaning it naturally grows attached to trees rather than rooted in desert sand. It loves good airflow, filtered light and a chunky, free-draining potting mix. With its sculptural appearance and relatively straightforward care requirements, it's a fantastic choice for anyone looking for something a little different.

Why You'll Love It

• Long, flattened stems create a wonderfully unusual, cascading silhouette.

• Green foliage can develop beautiful red and burgundy tones in brighter light.

• Perfect for hanging baskets, elevated shelves and trailing plant displays.

• A tropical jungle cactus with a fascinating epiphytic growth habit.

• An excellent choice for collectors and anyone who loves something a little unusual.
