August 1st... and just four days later, they closed again due to COVID lockdowns. Minty Greenhouse had to adapt quickly, shifting online and reworking the original business plan almost overnight. Somehow, it made it through one of the most challenging times imaginable for a brand-new business and continues to thrive today.

Later that year, Brad left his career as a chef and officially joined the business. Having worked together for years, building something of their own felt like a natural next step.

While building a new business, Abbie and Brad were also preparing to welcome a new addition to the family. Navigating a global pandemic, first-time parenthood and running a growing shop became the new normal.

Lucy arrived in April 2021, bringing even more love and purpose to the Minty story.

As 2021 rolled on, Minty Greenhouse began to find its feet, one leaf, one customer and one day at a time. Through changing rules and snap lockdowns, the doors stayed open and the dream kept growing.

The shop became more than a place to buy plants. It became a pocket of calm, connection and greenery during uncertain times. The community found Minty, supported it, and continues to do so today.

The shelves were fuller, the space greener, and the dream felt more real than ever. Minty Greenhouse leaned fully into sourcing, styling and filling the shop with plants that were genuinely loved.

Regulars became familiar faces, quick visits turned into long chats, and the shop buzzed with life. What began as blind faith was now blooming into something beautifully grounded and true to the original vision.

As plants purchased during lockdown began to outgrow their pots and need extra care, a new service naturally took shape. The Repotting Service was created to demystify indoor plant care and offer customers that little bit extra.

Since then, hundreds of repots have been completed, skills have been sharpened, and many plants have been saved from the compost heap.

A fresh layer was added to the space in 2024, with home décor officially joining the shelves. Tableware, cushions, candles and beautiful styling pieces expanded the vision beyond greenery alone.

Plants remained at the heart of Minty Greenhouse, but the store evolved into a fuller lifestyle experience, thoughtful, welcoming and full of personality.

In 2024, Minty Greenhouse stepped beyond the shop and into homes, offices and community spaces through installs and plant maintenance services. It was no longer just about selling plants, but helping them thrive long after purchase.

That next chapter has grown into lasting relationships, with multi-year maintenance clients whose spaces continue to flourish.
