If you're looking for a Hoya that's easy to grow, flowers beautifully and looks good all year round, Hoya Chouke is hard to beat. A cross between Hoya carnosa and Hoya serpens, it combines the best of both parents with lush rounded foliage, a compact trailing habit and reliable flowering.

Compared to Hoya Mathilde, Chouke has slightly larger leaves with very little silver flecking, giving it a rich glossy green appearance. Fast-growing and incredibly adaptable, it's equally happy spilling from a hanging basket or climbing a support, making it a fantastic choice for both new and experienced Hoya collectors.

Light
Thrives in bright, indirect light indoors. It can tolerate lower light but will flower more reliably with plenty of bright filtered light. Outdoors, it grows happily from heavy shade through to gentle morning sun.

Watering
Allow the potting mix to partially dry between waterings. Hoyas prefer a free-draining mix and don't enjoy sitting in wet soil for extended periods.

Feeding
Feed regularly during spring and summer with a quality liquid fertiliser or slow-release fertiliser to encourage strong growth and plenty of blooms.

Growing
Hoya Chouke is a vigorous grower that can be left to trail beautifully from a hanging basket or trained onto a trellis. Avoid removing old flower spurs, as they will continue producing new blooms year after year.

Yes. Hoyas are generally considered non-toxic to cats and dogs, although it's always best to discourage pets from chewing on any houseplant.
