Light
Thrives in bright, indirect light. Outdoors, position in around 50% shade. Too much direct sun can cause stems to redden and become smaller, while heavy shade may reduce flowering.

Watering
Keep the potting mix lightly moist throughout spring and summer while actively growing. Reduce watering during winter, allowing the mix to dry slightly between waterings to encourage flowering and seasonal dormancy.

Feeding
Feed with a quality liquid fertiliser or slow-release fertiliser during spring and summer when fresh growth begins.

Growing
Unlike traditional desert cacti, Rhipsalis naturally grows attached to trees in moist forests. It prefers a free-draining potting mix, regular moisture during the growing season and good airflow. If the stems become too long or untidy, simply trim them back to encourage fresh new growth.

Yes. Rhipsalis are generally considered non-toxic to cats and dogs, although it's always best to discourage pets from chewing on any houseplant.
