The Details

• Botanical Name: Calathea lietzei 'White Fusion' (also classified as Goeppertia lietzei 'White Fusion')
• Common Name: White Fusion Calathea
• Pot Size: 200mm Nursery Pot
• Plant Type: Tropical Evergreen Foliage Plant

Light

Thrives in bright, indirect light. Its beautifully variegated foliage needs good filtered light to maintain those stunning colours, but direct afternoon sun can scorch the delicate leaves. Avoid dark corners, as insufficient light can lead to slower growth and reduced vibrancy.

Watering

Keep the potting mix consistently lightly moist, allowing the surface to begin drying between waterings. Avoid letting it dry out completely or sit in waterlogged soil. White Fusion can be particularly sensitive to minerals in tap water, so rainwater or filtered water is a great option if you're experiencing crispy leaf edges.

Feeding

Feed year-round with a quality indoor plant fertiliser to support healthy foliage and consistent growth. Use a gentle, diluted application, particularly during cooler months when growth naturally slows. Avoid overfertilising, as Calatheas can be sensitive to excess fertiliser salts.

Growing

A moderate grower in the right conditions, White Fusion develops into a lush, bushy plant with beautifully patterned leaves emerging from the base.
Like other Calatheas, its leaves move throughout the day in response to changing light levels, often lifting upwards in the evening. It appreciates warm temperatures, consistent moisture and higher humidity, making it particularly happy in a bright bathroom or alongside other tropical plants.
Keep it away from cold draughts, heating vents and air conditioning, which can cause leaf edges to brown.

Pet Friendly?

Yes! Calathea 'White Fusion' is considered non-toxic to cats and dogs, making it a fantastic option for pet-friendly households.
